Bottom line:
Hipod is Britax’s value brand, positioned to compete with Mother’s Choice (which is Maxi-Cosi). Instead of promoting the latest and greatest feature, the Hipod Roma is a bare bones convertible car seat only available from Target.
At $129, all you should be really expecting is an Australian standards meeting car seat. And that’s pretty much what you get. There aren’t really any additional features to mention: it’s a seat and a 5 point harness. It’s not all that small. But owners say the seat does what it says on the tin.
Does it work? Yes. Is it cheap? Yes. Is it good value? I think that’s three yesses then. But just don’t expect more.
