Pros and cons
Pros
+ Top of the line safety features (Air Protect and G-Cell)
+ Short depth in rearward facing
+ Extended rearward facing to 2-3 years
+ ISOFIX
+ Infant insert for younger babies
Cons
– Newborn insert is very warm for baby
– Not that narrow for a ‘compact’ seat
Bottom line:
The Maxi-Cosi Moda is one of Maxi-Cosi’s high end convertible car seats. Air Protect head cushion protection and G-Cell side impact protection represents has the latest safety technology. Extended rearward facing to 2-3 years is an additional possibility if you want to be especially safe.
The Moda also has ISOFIX connectors for easy anchoring, and ‘Cool Baby Wicking Fabric’ to help during warmer days. An infant insert keeps newborn babies cocooned, but can make your baby too warm. It is also compact at 46cm wide and 45cm deep but is not as narrow as other car seats such as the Britax Graphene.
It has a price tag to match its feature set at $689 but there are plenty of options available for this kind of money, so it might come down to which one catches the eye as compared to the features.
Who this is for:
Parents looking for a high-end compact convertible car seat.
