Pros and cons
Pros
+ Affordable Type-G harnessed car seat
+ Side impact protection
+ Infant insert
Cons
– No recline, quite upright
– Harness adjustment requires rethreading
– Lacking safety features of other brands
Bottom line:
The Mother’s Choice Journey is an affordable harnessed car seat for those on a budget. If you were to strip down a seat to its bare minimum feature set, this is what you would get. This is not all a bad thing, as it does cut on weight and bulk compared to other seats. But it is quite upright without the option to recline and therefore your child’s head may flop if asleep.
At about half the price of equivalent 6mo – 8yr harnessed car seats, it will naturally be missing a lot of features of other seats but may be a good option for those who really want a Type G and don’t want to spend too much money.
Who this is for:
Parents (or grandparents) looking for a forward facing harnessed car seat on a budget.
