Bottom line:

Maxi-Cosi have come out with a feature-laden convertible car seat with the Vita Pro. They have loaded it with the latest safety features in Air Protect head cushion protection and G-Cell side impact protection, which protect your children in the event of a side impact accident. For the particularly safety conscious parent, it also offers extended rearward facing to 2-3 years, which is an even safer position.

The Maxi-Cosi Vita Pro also loads up the comfort and convenience features too: ISOFIX is included, with handy storage for the straps in case you need to hide them, and an infant insert that supports babies from newborn. Moisture wicking fabric is the right choice for hot Australian summers, and the chin support stops sleeping children’s heads from nodding around when sleeping. Its footprint at 45cm wide and 56.5cm deep makes it suitable for smaller cars. Finally, in a helpful everyday touch, the magnetic harness holder makes buckling and unbuckling that little bit easier.

Apart from colours, the only difference between the Vita Pro and Vita Smart is that the Vita Pro has the chin support to help prevent your child’s head from flopping when they sleeping.

At $799 it is priced very steeply but it does represent best-in-class for convertible car seats.

Who this is for:

Parents looking for a fully-featured, latest technology convertible car seat for a very competitive price.
