We spent 7.7 hours reading reviews from experts and users. In summary, this is what parents think:
✅ 6 reasons to buy
+ The Oricom SC720 has the option of connecting up to four cameras to the parent unit. + The unit doesn’t rely on a Wi-Fi connection, meaning it can be easily set up when travelling outside the home. + Parents found it was very easy to set up and use. + The baby unit has VOX sensors which help alert if the baby needs a nappy change. + Some parents liked the vibration option on the parent unit when the baby wakes up. + Parents who used customer service reported having a great experience with Oricom.
❌ 6 reasons NOT to buy
– A few parents found the parent unit would unexpectedly turn on and continue beeping false alarms. – Much like the Oricom SC710, many parents found the video quality to be quite poor in night vision mode. – Some users found the battery would not last more than 2 hours. – The unit is not that cheap for a baby monitor. – The screen will continually turn off if in VOX mode. – Some users found the practical unit range to be not that great.
Bottom line:
The Oricom SC720 is the 4 camera version of the SC710 but unfortunately has the same flaws as its predecessor: poor quality night vision, battery losing charge and going out of range. These issues are probably serious enough to render the unit not that useful for parents and there are better options elsewhere.
